The Advanced New Testament Greek course is geared for those who have completed the beginners programme or for individuals who have already studied the language at college or seminary. Its objective is to broaden students' critical understanding of the Greek New Testament through practical sessions in topics such as: textual criticism, translation theory, the Synoptic problem, and the use of the latest NT Greek internet tools and resources. Students will also engage in detailed grammatical and exegetical analysis of select New Testament texts, and be expected to produce and "defend" their own translation of an approved passage or chapter from the gospels or epistles. The use of the Greek New Testament in bible study and sermon preparation will be addressed, as will the merits and demerits of contemporary bible versions. The course will conclude with advice on how to set up and run a Greek reading group and on the type of books one should purchase in order to build up a modest but useful library of grammars, dictionaries, and critical commentaries.

The Advanced New Testament Greek programme takes place on a weekly basis or over four weekends during the course of a year.
